Why CaseKit exists
Most Shopify merchants handle support in Gmail for a long time before they move to a helpdesk. That stretch is longer than the tooling market admits, and almost nothing is built for it.
The gap
The options for a merchant answering support email are usually presented as two: keep struggling in Gmail, or migrate to a full helpdesk. The second is a real commitment — new inbox, new habits, ticket import, per-seat or per-ticket billing — and for a store doing a few dozen support emails a day it is a lot of machinery for a problem that is mostly one thing.
That one thing is this: the answer to most customer emails already exists in Shopify, and getting it means leaving the conversation.
What we built instead
CaseKit prepares replies from order facts inside Shopify Admin or WooCommerce. You review, edit and send the result. The optional Chrome extension brings the Shopify workflow into Gmail, with one-click insertion into the composer.
It does one job. It has no ticket queue, no routing, no SLAs and no omnichannel inbox, because adding those would make it the thing it was built as an alternative to.
The principle we care about most
The connected store supplies the order facts. CaseKit uses those facts to prepare a support draft. AI, when available on the chosen plan, helps interpret the question or phrase an acknowledgment. A person reviews and sends it.
Order facts should come from the store record, rather than from a language model. CaseKit keeps those facts separate from AI wording. Check the draft against the order and your policy before sending.
What changed in 2.0
CaseKit 1.x was an extension for Shopify and WooCommerce admin pages. The current Shopify app uses a server-side resolver and offers an optional Gmail extension. WooCommerce is supported by a separate WordPress plugin.
Earlier WooCommerce guides remain in the archive. Current installation and plan information is on the WooCommerce page.
Shopify lookups use encrypted credentials held on our server. WooCommerce service drafts send the disclosed message and reply candidates after consent; its Local reply option runs entirely on the WordPress site. See security and privacy for the data flows.
Independence
CaseKit is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Shopify or Google.
